Troubleshooting Common Connectivity Issues
Experiencing connectivity issues with your NewSIM eSIM can be frustrating.
This guide provides solutions to some common problems you may encounter, helping you get back online quickly.
What to Do When You Have No Signal or Connectivity
If you’re not receiving a signal or unable to connect to the internet:
- Check SIM Activation Status: Make sure your eSIM is properly activated. You can verify this in the NewSIM app or your device’s SIM settings.
- Check for Software Updates: Make sure your device is running the latest OS version to avoid compatibility issues with eSIM services.
- Restart Your Device: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your device, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Enable Airplane Mode: Toggle Airplane Mode on and off. This can refresh your network connections and may help in regaining connectivity.
Tips to Resolve Slow Data Speeds on Your NewSIM Plan
If you’re experiencing slow internet speeds:
- Resetting your device’s network settings can often resolve hidden connection problems. This will remove saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth connections, and VPN settings, so be sure to have any passwords or details ready before proceeding.
On iPhone:
- Go to Settings
- Tap General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings
On Android (steps may vary by device):
- Go to Settings
- Tap General → General Management or System → Backup and Reset or Reset Options → Reset Network Settings
After resetting, reconnect to your mobile network and check your internet speed again.
If this does not resolve the issue after trying these steps, please check your VPN settings.
If your device has an active VPN connection, please disable it or it might require you to delete all VPN profiles under the device before proceeding.
VPNs can interfere with some services or slow down your connection.
- Go to Settings
- Tap General → VPN & Device Management
Difficulty Connecting to Specific Apps or Websites
If you can’t connect to specific apps or websites:
- Check App Settings: Ensure that the app has the necessary permissions to access your mobile data. You can find these settings in your device’s app permissions menu.
- Try a Different Browser: If you’re having trouble with a website, try accessing it through a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues.
- Clear App Data: For apps that are not working, clear the app’s data or reinstall it to resolve any corrupted files or settings.
