How do I check if my device is eSIM compatible?
eSIM compatibility depends on your device model. Follow the steps below to confirm compatibility.
- For iPhone users
- For Android users
- List of eSIM-Compatible Devices
iOS Devices that Support eSIM
Requirements:
- Device must be carrier-unlocked
- Must not be purchased in Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao
- Must be eSIM-compatible
How to Check If Your iPhone is Unlocked:
- Go to Settings
- Tap General → About
- Look for Carrier Lock
- If it says "No SIM restrictions," your device is unlocked
IMPORTANT NOTE
If your iPhone was purchased in Mainland China, the eSIM feature may NOT work even if you see the “Add eSIM” option in your settings.
This is due to regional restrictions that block eSIM usage. Models from Hong Kong and Macao typically have dual physical SIMs only (no eSIM).
How to check your iOS device is not purchased in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao:
- Go to Settings
- Tap General → About
- Tap Mobile Number — it will switch to a format starting with “A”
- Note this number, then visit Apple’s official page to identify the region your model was intended for:
How to check if your iOS device is eSIM compatible
- Go to Settings → Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data, depending on your region)
- Look for the option to “Add eSIM”.
