What Is APN and Why Does It Matter?
APN stands for Access Point Name. It is a setting that allows your device to connect to the mobile network and access the internet.
Most NewSIM eSIMs configure the APN automatically during installation. In rare cases, manual APN setup may be required if mobile data does not connect.
If you experience connectivity issues, checking or updating the APN settings provided by NewSIM can often resolve the problem quickly.
If the APN is not listed, it means your eSIM is configured automatically, and no further action is required.
How to update my APN settings?
For iPhone:
- Open Settings
- Select Cellular (or Mobile Data)
- Choose your eSIM under Cellular Plans (or Mobile Data Plans)
- Select Cellular Data Network (or Mobile Data Network)
- Enter the APN exactly as shown in your eSIM installation details (all lowercase, no spaces)

For Android:
- Open Settings
- Tap SIM & Network Settings
- Select your eSIM / SIM
- Tap Access Point Names (APNs)
- Tap Internet (or tap + to add a new APN if none exists)
- Enter the APN exactly as shown in your eSIM installation details
(all lowercase, no spaces)
- Save the settings and ensure the APN is selected
